A working group led by Deputy Minister of Education and Science G.Ganbayar visited Umnugovi Aimag. A working group met with aimag officials to discuss the establishment of a new school under the auspices of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology in the field of geology, mining and technology.
In Umnugovi aimag, a work plan to develop a university into a “Training-Research-Production Complex” will be developed in cooperation with the Mongolian University of Science and Technology in accordance with local specifics and regional development concepts. Aimag officials have announced plans to build a 15-hectare university campus in Dalanzadgad .
At the same time, B.Ochirbat, Director of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, and R.Seddorj, Governor of Umnugovi Aimag, signed a memorandum of understanding. Within the framework of the MoU, the aimag will cooperate in training in the mining, railway, energy, construction and information technology sectors, and in establishing affiliated schools.
The Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) has experience in establishing affiliated schools.
The program will train specialists in geology, mining and technology by eliminating duplication. In doing so, we will gradually implement the issue of creating a legal environment for providing tuition discounts and scholarships for students studying in rural areas, and allowing teachers and staff to work in the local area on a permanent basis.
